Special event trailer specs
When can we deliver (and pick up) a special event trailer?
Normal delivery and pick up of special event units is scheduled between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday-Friday. Typically, we need a 2-hour window for delivery and a 4-hour window for pick up. Since most of the events we service end late in the day, we normally pick up the following day. Note: delivery and pick up outside normal hours may be available but is subject to an additional fee. Availability is scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis, so please reserve your unit ASAP. Please contact us for more details.
What is the size and capacity?
The physical size of an event trailer ranges between 7-9 ft. wide and 14-20 ft. in length and will occupy the space of a vehicle in a standard parking space. Our event trailers range in size to hold between 50-300 of our large 20 lb bags.
Ice trucks and or “18-wheeler” tractor trailers occupy significantly larger space plus require space to maneuver. Large ice trucks or “18-wheeler” tractor trailers hold between 1000-2000 bags.
What are the power requirements?
The event freezer trailer needs to be plugged into a 110 volt 20 amp outlet, the same outlet you use around the house.
We recommend NOT TO USE GFI outlets when possible (outlets in the restroom, kitchen, and other wet areas with test / rest buttons)
95% of the problems we have with trailers not running right are due to power supply. We always have the trailers running in our yard before they leave to your location, so we know they are working. Please keep this in mind when selecting a location for merchandiser placement. It is essential that the merchandiser is placed in a location with power readily accessible.
Large trucks and tractor-trailers have their own diesel powered engine. The customer does not need to provide power, but customer is responsible for adding diesel to the unit. Most trucks/trailers need fuel after 2-3 days.
Do you provide an extension cord?
The freezer will have a cord about 15-25 ft. in length. If you need a longer cord, it is the customers responsibility to provide an extension cord. It is ideal to plug in directly to the wall outlet, but if you have to have an extension cord be sure that it is a heavy-duty thick cord. Do not use a cord that is excessively long, only the length you need.
Does the freezer have to be plugged in?
Generally YES, but it depends on your event. If your event is just for a few hours and we deliver right before your event, it is not critical that the freezer be plugged in. The ice merchandiser will act like a large ice chest and keep itself chilled for the duration of your event. If this is the case, please keep the freezer closed as much as possible. Please note you will not be eligible for credit if the ice merchandiser was not plugged in or has adequate power.
Do I have to be there to accept delivery?
It is important that you are available during that delivery window to receive the trailer, issue payment, and instruct our personnel where to place the trailer. The trailer hitch must be locked before we leave, so the trailer cannot be moved or stolen during or after your event. You are responsible for Mireles Party Ice equipment while it is in your possession, until the equipment is picked up.
